Making Our Communities Greener: Children of the Earth United ChildrenOfTheEarth.org - check it out! Learn how to plant wildflowers, read some powerful poems written by children, or watch an animated presentation on global warming. An interactive website designed to be a forum for children and adults to share and learn about animals, plants, environmental issues, and much more, has been created by a non-profit organization on Long Island called Children of the Earth United . Children of the Earth United's name comes from the Native American teaching that all people, animals and plants are children of the earth. The website helps its users develop as responsible stewards of our "sisters and brothers" in the animal and plant kingdoms. Our youth will soon be inheriting the challenges created by years of short-sited environmental practices. All Children of the Earth United programs are geared towards helping to motivate and empower them to make a positive difference. While special emphasis is placed on kids between the ages of 8-18 and their teachers, www.ChildrenOfThEarth.org is for anyone interested in learning about the environment and helping to restore ecological balance. Children of the Earth United also offers experiential education programs to Long Island schools. These programs help children develop a personal relationship with nature while fostering an understanding of the earth and all living creatures through engaging activities. Children of the Earth Untied relies on donations from the general public to support its work. Please consider sending a tax-deductible donation to Children of the Earth United, P.O. Box 258035 ~ Madison, WI 53725. (address updated)Together, with our children, we can work to heal our planet and create a sustainable and bright future for the generations to come.
